Stockport League – A Division.

Nice little win for Eccles bringing us closer to winning the Stockport League but it’s not going to be easy, so if you get the call to play, please say yes if you can.

We need to continue to pull together as a team and prove why we’re worthy of the name “Team Eccles”.

A big thank you to Driver Dave Boulden for doing the running when not playing himself: It is so good to have players who do this and it’s very much appreciated.

Man of the Match: Phil Armstrong

I like Phil, he plays for Eccles in the Stockport League and the Blue Club in the Manchester League and we are so lucky to have him on board.

Phil was the 1st to finish his game against a very worthy opponent in just 17 moves when his opponent resigned after losing a pawn to a Bxh7 sacrifice. Nice win Phil, in actual fact, I can’t ever remember you losing a game playing for Eccles tbh and yeah, keep bringing those wins to the table as every win is vital from now on especially as we’re nearing the end of the season.
