Ladies Learning Chess Opening Night with Lovely Bubbly & Eccles Chess Cakes. (Ladies Only)

‘Ladies Giving Chess a Chance’ will be held on Mondays at Eccles Community Chess Hub, 21 Church Street Eccles M30 0DF and starts between 7 and 7.30pm. Plenty of free parking behind Eccles Train Station or John William Street Car Park.

The initial plan is to pair ladies who can play chess and to teach those ladies who can’t.

Once you have learnt how the pieces move, which is not difficult, you can then be paired with others of a similar level and start playing this beautiful game.

Myself and Leila (pictured above) have been taught how to teach chess by Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC) and will be on hand for tuition. Leila is a qualified chess coach who can help develop the skills of intermediate players and take them more deeply into the game. There will also be other chess coaches to give valued help and advice.

The aim of Ladies Learning Chess is the idea of creating the 1st known female chess team playing in league matches in Manchester.

So come on girls why not ‘Give Chess a Chance’ Invite all ya Nan, Mam, Female Family & Friends and do something that will expand your mind and make you feel happy.

What’s the worst thing that can happen? You find out it’s not for you, but hey, at least you know it’s not for you, but this does not mean you have to leave as you can support Ladies Learning chess in other ways.

Eleanor Percival from BBC radio Manchester said, “It’s a hub for ladies, run by ladies enjoying learning how to play chess and doing something that has positive social and health benefits”.

So come on girls, give Chess a Chance, because if you don’t, you’ll never know how playing chess could be the best move you ever made:D
