Eccles 1.5 – 2.5 Chorlton
E Division

Chorlton got off to a great start winning the 1st match of the season. Even though Eccles fielded a much stronger team and out rated all four Chorlton players Eccles just couldn’t win for losing.

It looked on paper before the match that Eccles should have won but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Well played Chorlton and to Captain Jack Donegan (pictured) for being the driving force behind the team. Jack commented, I guess that all of our members who attended the match felt the environment was very welcoming which made it enjoyable cheers jack x

I did notice after everyone had gone home someone had gifted a £5 note which I found on top of the pie warming machine and I’d like to say a big thank you to this silent benefactor as it’s not often when someone gifts money and thank you again for your kindness.

Man of the Match: Brandon Dao (Pictured)

Brandon played Brilliantly for someone so young. He’s only been playing chess for about 15 months and he’s already showing great promise. His opponent Colin said the youngster was a good solid player and should go far. I would like to say Brandon’s Dad Mike who brought him to the match that his son has a good chess future and it’s great that he has your support.
