Man of the Match: Tom Tomlinson. (Altrincham)

Tom played extremely well against seasoned player David Stuttard right from the onset considering the 142 point rating difference.

Dave said, ‘The game started with an opening I’m familiar with. Too familiar as I missed an obvious Knight weakening. Apart from my final 12th move anything else would have kept the game going’.

I was not at the match but I assume that because their game ended in just 12 moves they were the 1st to leave there board hence Dave not having any problems with public transport getting back to Warrington. It was a long way to travel to bow out after only 12 moves and thanks Dave for making the effort. Better luck next time.
