Eccles 4 – 1 St. Helens

Development C Division – Warrington League.

It was unfortunate that St. Helens were unable to field a full team and had to default the bottom two boards but all who played enjoyed their games

Eccles players Antony & Christine who were going to play on boards 4 & 5 ended up playing a rated game against each other via ChAMPS (Chess Association for Manchester Players & Supporters) Ant won, but only just. Well played Christine 👍

Man of the Match: Darrell Lindsay (Captain Daz)

Captain Daz, as he is best known on the chess circuit is loved by everyone! He 1st started playing for Eccles back in 2019 when he used to play socially at the Rope & Anchor in Manchester.

Manchester Social Chess now play at the Waldorf on Wednesdays and I’m so glad I snaffled Darrell when I did.

Captain Daz is an amazing character with a heart of gold, he plays when he can and considering he’s not played a league match for nearly 12 months he did good!

Thx Captain Daz, your ECF membership is now renewed and we hope to see you when you come back from the Bronx in a couple of weeks.
