Barbara Farrar of Eccles Community Chess Club and representing Ladies in Chess, is shown receiving the Stockport League Challenge Trophy from the Stockport League Presedent Glenn Trueman. This is the first time in 73 years a club has won this trophy on its debut 2023/24

Barbara Farrar of Eccles Community Chess Club and representing Ladies in Chess, is shown receiving the C Division Trophy from the Warrington League Presedent Peter Mulleady. This is the first time Eccles have entered a team in the Warrington League and it was great to have won it.

Eccles Club Secretary Anthony Mills and Committee Member Colin Winstanley at the Eccles AGM 2022 with the MCF Hartley Trophy for winning D Division and the Alfred Milner Cup for winning E Division alongside certificates presented after lockdown from 2019 when Eccles Community Chess Club first became established.
The famous Wooden Spoon Award was made by Committee member Colin Winstanley for teaching the chess players of Eccles the error of their ways. It was presented to club Secretary Antony Mills (pictured below) for falling asleep at his board whilst taking part in a league match December 2023. Antony has since learned how to stay awake long enough to finish his game. Well done Ant!! The Wooden Spoon is now hanging on the wall awaiting for another worthy holder. Many thanks to Colin Winstanley for making not one, but two penalty Wooden Spoons Awards! Lessons are learned out of good team spirit by all previous award holders of the Wooden Spoon Award!
